Zana has spent her life in education. From art teacher to administrator to artist/teacher entrepreneur to yoga instructor, her creative approach to teaching sets her apart, encouraging students to explore, grow and transform. She currently teaches Hatha Yoga, Core Chair Yoga, and Beginner Yoga. In addition, Zana works with cognitively challenged seniors at a number of retirement centers.

      Staying active has always been an important part of my life, including playing tennis, volleyball and biking. I was introduced to Group Fitness 20 years ago, initially as a participant. Today, it is a wonderful way for me to share my love of fitness, encouraging and challenging participants to new levels of fitness. When not exercising, I enjoy spending time with my family of five sons and immersing myself in a great mystery/suspense book every chance I get.

          Dalfim has always enjoyed being fit. He knows what it’s like to go through the ups and downs of keeping a routine. However, that doesn’t stop him from giving his all, while achieving his goals – in fitness or in life. Dalfim is obsessed with obstacle course racing and has done numerous OCR races (Spartan Races, Warrior Dash, BattleFrog, Tough Mudder, Savage Race, OCR World Championship). He’s also done longer endurance events like BattleFrog’s BFX Multiple lap races, Spartan Race’s 12HR Hurricane Heat, and Gut Check’s The Suck 12HR (working towards the main event of completing their 36 hour one), and plans to participate in ‘Worlds Toughest Mudder’ added to his bucket list. Family is very important to Dalfim. He feels improving oneself or participating in an activity that you’re passionate about is essential in all aspects to be a better version of yourself life and to the people around you.


          FITNESS PHILOSOPHY

          Life will throw you a curve ball – we’ve all experienced that. But, every now and then, we fall into the trap of being in our comfort zone for far too long. It’s not good to be stagnant. Life was meant to be lived to the fullest. Get out there and try something new – drag someone along for the ride, as well. When you look back, it will all be worth it. Invest in yourself, and your health and you’ll reap the benefits of a more rewarding life.

I participated in high school sports, which translated to running and weightlifting after school, and then sprint triathlons with my son. Even though my exercise routine has changed over the years from running and weightlifting to cycling and swimming, I still try to work out five or six times a week. It is a big part of my life.

                          I am a cardio junkie who has had to change how I exercise due to back issues. I swim, bike, and teach yoga. I understand physical strengths and limitations and I teach with a physical therapy mindset. I focus on the whole body, both anterior and posterior muscle groups, in each of my classes. My classes are focused on safety of the spine and strengthening the core. If I exercise, I want to feel like it was a great workout. During the day, I work as an Orthopedic Sales Rep and I am married with two children.

                                      I am a mother of three energetic boys. I decided as they become more active, I didn’t want to be on the sidelines watching, but rather running and joining in on the fun. I have been teaching Group Exercise, and more specifically Zumba and Aqua Zumba, for approximately 1 1/2 years. I love being around people and fell in love with Zumba for its exciting music and atmosphere. I enjoy so many things about teaching my classes, but my favorite part of the job is seeing the smiling faces and making so many connections with inspiring people. In my spare time, I play volleyball with my sons, husband, and friends.
